Accordingly, in Seoul, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province and the Yongsan district government solemnly held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This is a particularly significant event, affirming the continuation of the strong friendship established in 1996 between Yongsan district and Quy Nhon city (formerly part of Binh Dinh province before its merger with Gia Lai).
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai province, Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, emphasized that the province currently has a natural area of over 21,500 km2 (the second largest in Vietnam) with a population of over 3.5 million people.
The province is oriented towards green and sustainable development, linked with digital transformation and expanding international integration. This MOU signing not only affirms the continuity but also opens a new and broader phase of cooperation.
The key areas of cooperation between Gia Lai and Yongsan District include: maintaining and operating the Yongsan District International Exchange Office in Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province; providing mutual support in the fields of healthcare and public health; exchanging and training young people and supporting outstanding students studying abroad; promoting cooperation in the fields of economics, culture, arts, and tourism; and exchanging information in administrative matters to foster friendship.

During the trip, the delegation also held working sessions with several units to encourage investment linkages, especially in the fields of tourism and medical training cooperation.
Specifically, regarding infrastructure and logistics, the delegation worked with Incheon Port – the second largest container port in South Korea – to learn about the "smart port" model and the application of digital technologies such as AI and IoT in operations.
Here, provincial leaders expressed their desire for Incheon Port to share its planning experience, support human resource training, and transfer logistics management expertise to enhance the local capacity.

Regarding tourism and trade, the delegation worked with Hana Tour, a leading South Korean travel company. Besides introducing the potential for ecotourism and local culture, the provincial delegation also hoped that Hana Tour would research and develop connecting tour routes, especially the possibility of organizing charter flights to bring Korean tourists directly to the province.
Regarding urban development, during the meeting with HDC Hyundai Development Group, the delegation learned about smart city models and multi-functional complexes. They then requested the group to research investment opportunities in commercial, service, and urban projects in Gia Lai to create a development highlight.

Regarding healthcare and business networking, the delegation worked with Soonchunhyang University Hospital and the Yongsan District Chamber of Commerce. Provincial leaders expressed their hope that Soonchunhyang Hospital would continue to support professional training, transfer medical technology, and carry out charitable programs for disadvantaged people.
For the Chamber of Commerce, the province also wants to establish a regular networking mechanism to introduce Korean businesses to invest in high-tech agriculture and logistics in the province.
The successful working trip has opened up many tangible opportunities for Gia Lai to maximize its potential and advantages; gradually affirming its position as a connecting center for the Central Highlands and Central Coast regions in the flow of Vietnam-Korea cooperation.
