Gia lai province steps up investment promotion and broadens collaboration in tourism and civil aviation with the Republic of Korea
(gialai.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of June 12, in the Republic of Korea, the Investment Promotion Forum organized by FLC Group took place in the presence of a large number of businesses, investors, and leading economists from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. The forum featured a series of important networking and cooperation activities, opening up new opportunities in the fields of tourism, aviation, and real estate between various localities of Vietnam and their Korean partners.

Overview of the forum
Attending the forum were Comrade Phạm Anh Tuấn – Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Gia Lai Province; His Excellency Vũ Hồ, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Korea; along with leaders from leading enterprises and major corporations of both countries.

Addressing the forum, H.E. Vũ Hồ, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Korea, acknowledged and highly appreciated the coordination between FLC Group and its Korean partners in organizing the event with a view to opening up new investment opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in the fields of real estate, aviation, and resort tourism. According to Ambassador Vũ Hồ, these are sectors in which the Republic of Korea possesses notable strengths, with many major and reputable conglomerates and enterprises active in both domestic and international markets. On its part, the Embassy of Vietnam is committed to accompanying and supporting Vietnamese and Korean businesses in forging close cooperation and linkages, aiming to effectively tap into the potential and advantages of Vietnam, including those of Gia Lai Province, so as to foster shared development, contribute to the overall progress of both nations, and further elevate the Vietnam – Republic of Korea strategic partnership to new heights.

Addressing the forum, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phạm Anh Tuấn introduced to the Korean business community an image of Gia Lai as a locality with vast development space, rich potential, and a readiness for extensive international cooperation. He emphasized that Gia Lai possesses distinctive advantages, bringing together both the blue sea and the majestic Central Highlands forests, along with unique cultural values and heritage, thus creating the special identity of a land known as "The Great Forest Meeting the Blue Sea".

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, over the past period, Gia Lai has been actively and thoroughly preparing all necessary conditions to translate its potential into tangible investment and business opportunities for enterprises. With a strong orientation toward tourism development, the locality identifies the Republic of Korea as a strategic international tourist market, as well as a top priority partner in investment cooperation and tourism development.

With a view to strengthening connectivity, expanding trade, and attracting international visitors, Gia Lai Province is closely coordinating with FLC Group, airlines, and travel companies to promote the launch of charter flights directly connecting Seoul with Quy Nhon in the coming time. This is considered an important step aimed at creating momentum for tourism and service development, as well as attracting international investment to the locality.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phạm Anh Tuấn expressed his hope that Korean enterprises would not only view Gia Lai as a promising investment destination but also become strategic partners, accompanying the locality in building a modern, professional, and internationally competitive tourism ecosystem. He affirmed that the provincial authorities always regard the success of businesses as the success of the locality, and pledged to create the most favorable conditions for investors to operate with confidence and develop sustainably over the long term.
"Gia Lai always welcomes investors with an open-door policy and a shared spirit: Together we share opportunities – together we create value – together we achieve sustainable development," emphasized the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Within the framework of the forum, during a thematic discussion session featuring the participation of leading experts and enterprises from Vietnam and the Republic of Korea in the fields of real estate, aviation, and resort tourism, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phạm Anh Tuấn exchanged views and further elaborated on the province's development orientations, as well as its open and transparent policy mechanisms aimed at attracting investment and making tourism a key economic sector.

The forum also witnessed a number of important cooperation outcomes, marked by the signing of memoranda of understanding and strategic agreements between enterprises of the two countries. Notably, a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Cooperation was signed between Bamboo Airways and RAKSO Holdings Co., Ltd.; another between FLC Hotels & Resorts and HanaTour Service Inc.; along with a comprehensive cooperation agreement on the development of international membership card products between FLC Biscom and DATRIP. These agreements are expected to contribute to elevating tourism, aviation, and service cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea to a new height.

Prior to the forum, on its sidelines, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phạm Anh Tuấn held a working meeting with Mr. Jung Jinwoo – Chairman of RAKSO Holdings – and leaders of FLC Group to discuss plans for launching charter flights from the Republic of Korea to Quy Nhon. During the meeting, the parties reached consensus on a number of important cooperation matters aimed at promoting aviation and tourism connectivity between Gia Lai and key international markets.

RAKSO Holdings is a company with extensive experience in the tourism and aviation sectors, established in 1987 and operating for nearly four decades. The company currently owns an ecosystem comprising five member companies operating in the Republic of Korea, the Philippines, and Australia, with total assets of approximately 51 million USD. RAKSO's core activities include serving as a General Sales Agent (GSA) for numerous international airlines, as well as organizing and operating charter flights. The company is currently recognized as one of the top three GSA entities in the Republic of Korea.
Notably, RAKSO Holdings is a pioneer in developing the tourism market between the Republic of Korea and the Philippines, playing a key role in facilitating Korean tourist arrivals to the Philippines. The annual transaction value between RAKSO Holdings and Philippine Airlines currently stands at approximately 100 million USD, reflecting the company's considerable capacity in market development and international passenger transport operations.
During the meeting, Mr. Jung Jinwoo committed to actively studying and developing programs to bring tourists from the Republic of Korea to Quy Nhon, while also expanding the exploitation of passenger sources from the Philippines and other international markets where RAKSO Holdings holds competitive advantages. Under the planned schedule, the first charter flight from the Republic of Korea to Quy Nhon is expected to operate in September 2026, laying an important foundation for the future expansion of regular international routes.

Cooperation with reputable aviation and tourism partners such as RAKSO Holdings not only contributes to enhancing the locality's international connectivity but also opens up opportunities to attract high-quality visitor sources, thereby promoting the development of tourism, services, trade, and investment. This also constitutes a concrete step towards realizing the goal of making tourism a key economic sector, helping to create new growth drivers for Gia Lai Province in the coming period.
