Every 4th and 5th of Lunar New Year, people in An Khê town (Gia Lai) eagerly prepare for the Tây Sơn Thượng Đạo festival. The event commemorates the victory of Ngoc Hồi - Đống Đa and the glorious uprising journey of the Tây Sơn movement, especially paying tribute to the national hero Quang Trung - Nguyễn Huệ and the participating soldiers.

The highlight of the festival is the palanquin procession and incense offering rituals at the Tây Sơn Thượng Đạo relic site. The sacred atmosphere and the sound of war drums resounding throughout the space have reminded many people of the heroic moment when the Tay Son soldiers went to battle, and at the same time helped this become one of the most epic festivals in Gia Lai.
